(Cuban) Lime Sugar Cookies

This recipe for sugar cookies is so good! They are small, sweet, and crumbly. It only has four ingredients and it so simple. I love that you can make them any shape (although I stick with the circle). I found this recipe for a school project and have made it many times since, and they always turn out great!

I found this recipe in Tara’s Multicultural Table. here is the link:

The only thing I changed about this recipe was I substituted shortening for butter.

Ingredients

3/4 cup semi-soft butter

1/2 cup sugar

1 1/2 cups flour

1-2 tsp lime zest

Preheat oven to 350℉. Using an electric mixer, beat together sugar and butter until smooth.

Slowly mix in the flour. Add in zest.

Roll out dough on a clean, floured surface to be about 1/2-1/4 inch thick. Cut out shapes and place

on a baking sheet lined with buttered parchment paper. Bake for 15-25 minutes. Enjoy!
